Hussain M Elius is a serial entrepreneur, and the founder of Pathao and Wind.
Pathao is a super-app, based out of Dhaka, with a vision of Moving Bangladesh forward. The 10+ different services in Pathao include ride-sharing, logistics, e-commerce, food delivery, payments, BNPL, and more. Started the company in 2015 from a garage in Dhaka and scaled it to 2,000+ people. By 2021, the company has raised $50m+, scaled to reach over 5mil+ users, 50,000+ drivers, over 30,000+ merchants and 10,000+ restaurants.
In 2022, Elius founded Wind. Wind is a decentralized banking replacement built by self-custodial on-chain wallets that facilitate instant, almost free, global payments. Wind raised $3.8m, acquired payments licenses in UAE and EU, and was moving $100m+/month. Wind was acquired by River in 2025, and was rebranded to Pipes.
Elius was born and raised in Dhaka, and completed his postgraduate degree from North South University, Bangladesh. He became a Forbes 30U30 Consumer Tech honoree in 2019.
